About the institution

Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University is a vibrant metropolitan university and a key academic force serving the community of Kyiv. For HUMAN-AI, BGKMU provides necessary research and ICT facilities, including innovative educational spaces (with a modern digital hub for continuous development of digital competences), integrated environments for virtual realities (VR/AR) and a comprehensive library (~23,000 items).

Prof. Natalia Morze — Coordinator at BGKMU

Habilitated Doctor, Full Professor at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. Recognised expert in digital education, ICT in education, e-learning and digital transformation of educational systems. Her work has significantly contributed to the development of national digital education strategies, teacher digital competence frameworks, and institutional e-learning environments in Ukraine.

Extensive experience in international research and innovation projects (Erasmus+, Tempus, Horizon-related initiatives). Expertise includes digital competencies, e-governance, AI in education, learning analytics and innovative pedagogical models. Author of more than 400 scientific publications; contributor to national educational standards, curricula and teacher training systems. Active member of program committees of numerous conferences, and national expert for organisations such as UNESCO and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Prof. Rusudan Makhachashvili

Habilitated Doctor, Full Professor, Head of Internationalization of Higher Education Research Lab at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. Academic expertise encompasses digital and AI literacy, AI-mediated communication, and the human-centred use of digital technologies in research and education, with a focus on cognitive, communicative and literacy dimensions of digital transformation.

Research Expert of the European Digital Education Hub (European Commission) — Main Drivers on EU level for AI in Education Squad and Future Classrooms Squad; Research Expert for ETF Skills Lab Network; Member of the Digital Humanism Initiative (TU Wien, Austria); Expert for the National LLM development taskforce (Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine).


Dr. Iryna Vorotnykova

Associate Professor, Head of Department of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Education and Technologies at the In-service Teacher’s Training Institute of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. Research interests span STEM education, innovative pedagogies and AI, and teacher training.

International expertise and supervised projects include: House of Europe — STEM Teaching Lab: Online Laboratory (Coordinator); Researcher in Erasmus+ MOPED (No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP); Researcher in IRNet (FP7 Marie Curie Actions IRSES, 2014–2017, PIRSES-GA-2013-612536); regional coordinator of Leaders of Educational Change (Warsaw, Poland) and Intel — Education for the Future.
